Clearlake é a principal cidade da região de Lake e onde fica o maior lago da Califórnia.
Cabernet sauvignon é o vinho mais produzido na região, que pode exibir rótulos com as denominações Red Hills of Lake County, High Valley, Benmore Valley, Clear Lake, Guenoc Valley e North Coast, todas AVA. A uva sauvignon blanc também é encontrada na região.
